HOW REMOVING MSN MESSENGER
A lot of people who want to know how to remove a service MSN Messenger from Windows XP.  Well, here's how :
- Open explorer, on the toolbar select the Tools menu and click Folder Option. In the View Option, select "Show Hidden Files and Folders" to display files and folders are hidden files ( like image 1 and 2 )

- Look for Sysoc.inf files in the folder C:\Windows\INF and open with notepad
- Find the line that contains msmsgs=msgrocm.dll, OcEntry, msmsgs.inf hide, 7 and omit the word "hide" in the text, then save the file
- After you do this, now you can remove MSN Messenger through tha facilities of tha add/remove program in Control Panel

If using Windows XP Profesional, leave it installed, but change the setting of Windows to MSN Messenger never executed. To do this you can use GPEDIT.MSC to change setting on the facility, for disabling the startup does not make the program will not run (Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, and several web pages in Microsoft can unlock).
For that, :
- Open the Start menu and then select Run and type "gpedit.msc"
- Select Computer Configuration -> Administrative Template -> Windows Component -> Windows Messenger
- Now you can change setting on MSN Messenger activation

Note:This method is sometimes slow access to Outlook, Outlook this was due to run messenger when accessed. Fastest and easiest way to remove messenger without slowing down Outlook is changing the msmsgs.exe file name that is on the folder c:\Program Files\Messenger became another name such as "msmsgsnew.exe"
